‘“. . . the joy of the Lord is your strength”
(Nehemiah 8:10). Where do the saints get their joy? If we did not know some
Christians well, we might think from just observing them that they have no
burdens at all to bear. But we must lift the veil from our eyes. The fact that
the peace, light, and joy of God is in them is proof that a burden is there as
well. The burden that God places on us squeezes the grapes in our lives and
produces the wine, but most of us see only the wine and not the burden. No
power on earth or in hell can conquer the Spirit of God living within the human
spirit; it creates an inner invincibility’ CHAMBERS
If you read Galatians
5:16-25 you will see a great contrast between the person who live in
dependence on the flesh and the one who lives by the Spirit. God has sent us a Helper … to live this life
in Christ. The Spirit was not sent
solely for the purpose of salvation, but also for sanctification, so we would
be a light in the midst of spiritual darkness, but also for edification, so we would
have the capacity to live our new life in victory. The fruit of the Spirit is
not for a select few super-saints, but for every Believer. The world really isn’t interested in a life
that has no trouble or sickness or loss or any of the other things that plague
humans in this world. But as we are
squeezed in God’s winepress … the result is the fragrance of Christ … something
super – natural … extra-ordinary … note worthy ....

Corinthians 4:7-9 ” But we have this
treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and
not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but
not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
If you are not “feeling it”. But rather, you are feeling defeated …
without hope … hurt … maybe you are looking in the wrong place. Psalm
121:1-2 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My
help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
