They Need A Change Of Heart

My Utmost For His Highest

‘Every Christian must experience the essence of the incarnation by bringing the next step down into flesh-and-blood reality and by working it out […] The thing that really testifies for God and for the people of God in the long run is steady perseverance, even when the work cannot be seen by others. And the only way to live an undefeated life is to live looking to God. Ask God to keep the eyes of your spirit open to the risen Christ, and it will be impossible for drudgery to discourage you.’ CHAMBERS

The laws of the land reflect the moral values of the culture living in that land.  Over time, the laws change as the culture changes … much like the “frog in the pot”, the changes are slow .. maybe over generations … If you happen to live for more than one generation, and most of us do, you will see those changes taking place.  Sometimes they are for the good and sometimes not.  What does not change, however, is the Word of God.  It remains .. unchanged … but that does not mean that people have not and do not attempt to “re-write” the Bible to fit their particular view, as if they have received a greater revelation from God. When they are in fact merely trying to justify their form of Christianity.

Persevering in your faith in the midst of all of that requires self-discipline and faith.  Your perseverance will cause friction in the culture you live in.  That friction will cause you to be viewed as different .. eccentric … out-of-date … out-of-touch … naïve … You may be rejected … even by those who are close to you ….  But the truth is that you will be a light in the darkness.  God does not change … His definition of sin and right living does not change … His solution to sin and death does not change … … His plan to use the Saints as a testimony to His love and glory does not change … and the need for us to persevere in a culture that is running full speed into the darkness will not change …

Laws and what is acceptable in the any culture reflect the hearts of the people in that culture … If you want what is happening in this culture to change, then the hearts of the people must change.  You part is to persevere in your faith .. to let your light shine … to point people to the One who is unchangeable.  The One who can change hearts ….
