‘Beware of talking about surrender if you know
nothing about it. In fact, you will never know anything about it until you
understand that John 3:16 means that God completely and absolutely gave Himself
to us. In our surrender, we must give
ourselves to God in the same way He gave Himself for us— totally,
unconditionally, and without reservation. The consequences and
circumstances resulting from our surrender will never even enter our mind,
because our life will be totally consumed with Him.’ CHAMBERS
Jesus said, “Then he called the crowd to him along
with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny
themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (Mark 8:34) Jesus set the example when He came from heaven and died
on the cross for us. Are you there or do
you come short of that calling? Romans 12:1-2 says to offer yourself as
a living sacrifice … you don’t have to die physically, but you must die to self
… it says do not be conformed to this world … do not seek after the things of
this world … what it has to offer you as if that is where you will find your
peace, happiness, security … but be transformed … Don’t deceive yourself by
thinking you can do both ….. You cannot pick up the cross until you lay down
your devotion to the things of this world … that starts in the heart ….
