Close to the Fire

My Utmost For His Highest

Worship is giving God the best that He has given you. […] The lasting value of our public service for God is measured by the depth of the intimacy of our private times of fellowship and oneness with Him. […] we must “pitch our tents” where we will always have quiet times with Him, however noisy our times with the world may be. There are not three levels of spiritual life— worship, waiting, and work. […] It is a discipline that must be developed; it will not happen overnight.’ CHAMBERS

Is there a magic formula to having an abiding relationship with God?  Do you marvel at the relationship some people seem to have with Him?  What we see in those people is a result of their intentional relationship with Him. Spending time with God is the what it takes to get to know Him.  Getting to know Him is what it takes to see life from His perspective.  Seeing life from His perspective brings understanding.  Having understanding leads to obedience.  Obedience leads to blessing.  James 4:8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”  If you want to be warmed, you must draw close to the fire.
