Koinonia
There is a wonderful gathering near Cayes Jacmel every Sunday night. It is a loosely connected community of believers ... missionaries who are living and serving in Jacmel and the surrounding communities and short term missionaries who may be in town for just the week. Each Sunday is different in terms of the shape and emphasis the gathering takes. But while you are there, you have a sense that you are in a safe place. Not so much from physical danger, but you are in a place where you are accepted and loved. People share their hearts. The Lord is worshiped and praised. It is a Koinonia moment. Koinonia is from a Greek word (κοινωνία) that means communion by intimate participation. That pretty much describes Sunday nights. No pretense .. just Believers seeking fellowship and encouragement. Bondye Bon. God is Good.
