A Christian's Role (Your Role) In The World

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

We have been separated out of the world as ministers of the Gospel - all of us not just some of us.  The Bible is clear about that. However, most Christians do not have a clear understanding of what that role entails. The pastor of our church told us that the point of the Gospel is to "overthrow the heart of man". In other words - the Gospel changes hearts. Changing people from lovers of themselves to those who love the Creator God and are saved by faith in His Son. A Christian's focus and heart is to be on God while the lost are focused on and hearts are devoted to the world. People want to know who or what you are for. Republican - Democrat. That is the big one right now. Are you a Vaxer or anti-vaxer. For Israel or Palestine. For open or closed the borders. For guns or no guns.  For more money for Ukraine or no money for Ukraine. And then there is the list of moral issues. Oh, there is so much to be for and against.

The great dividing question is do you believe that Jesus is the Christ - the Redeemer of mankind or not.

"When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He said to them, But who do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 16:13-17

That is the message of reconciliation that all Christians are to share with the World. The truth of it can only be understood through a spiritual revelation from God.

And so, we are called to love, equipped to love, and we are sent to love. Love is the first fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians chapter 5. Love is the cornerstone of the first and second greatest commandments in Matthew 22. Love God and Love Others.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:13-16

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
