Ram In The Bush

"He (the Angel of the Lord - also known as Christ of the Covenant) said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided." - Genesis 22:12-14

The ram in the bush was the sacrifice not Isaac.  Sacrificing Issac could not set things right between God and man. It was a picture of our need or a sacrifice and God providing a "ram in the bush" - Jesus. Yes, I know that God was testing Abraham's devotion to God. But it was Jesus who spoke to Abraham on that mountain. That is called a Theophany - when Jesus revealed Himself in the Old Testament.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any-thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1:1-5

I know that you know Jesus was in the Beginning. That Jesus was sent from heaven to earth as THE (sic) "Ram in the bush" for all of mankind. An eternal sacrifice once for all. Following Jesus means living a life submitted to the will of the Father. Just like Jesus.

"For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me." - John 6:38

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
