Be Careful What You Ask For

When you seek God, what is your focus?  Your personal needs?  Is there anything wrong with that? Asking God to help you?  Of course not.  The  problem lies in that being our 'soul' focus.  Jesus said, not to worry.  Trust God instead.  The sum total of our spiritual life should not be for our benefit .. so we will not have trouble .. pain .. sorrow ... lack for anything.  But we should be focused out .. letting the living water flow from us to others .. then to others .. and so on ... 

As we walk in confidence with God, we tell the world that God is able.  That His strength is sufficient.  That He is trustworthy.  That He loves us with an everlasting  love.  How can they know that?  Because they see it being lived out in our own lives. 

Fulfill your purpose ... live for Him ... let your light shine before all men ... so they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matt 5:16)
