‘Never dull your sense of
being your utmost for His highest—your best for His glory. For you, doing
certain things would mean craftiness coming into your life for a purpose other
than what is the highest and best, and it would dull the motivation that God has
given you. Many people have turned back
because they are afraid to look at things from God’s perspective. The
greatest spiritual crisis comes when a person has to move a little farther on
in his faith than the beliefs he has already accepted’ CHAMBERS
We must always be on our guard to avoid making
something happen rather than trusting God to make it happen. We strike out on some journey in response to
God’s call and then, when things don’t progress as we thought they would, or we
encounter obstacles – people, delays, etc. – we begin to think of ways that we
can fix things. A feeling starts to rise
up within us. We become anxious about a
situation or perhaps frustrated with a person.
We shift our eyes off of God and on to the difficulty we are
facing. It is at that point that we are
no longer doing ‘our best for His glory’ … we are operating on the strength of
our flesh and wit. This happens very
subtly … and seems very reasonable and justifiable when we do it. It is so easy to slip into our old ways …
with good intentions …
As we live and do for God, if the influence of His
Spirit is not in all we do, then we are serving in vain. We might as well have a secular job for the
eternal good that is being done. This
life requires that we be spiritually sensitive .. on our guard … always ready
to ward off the temptation to do our best in our strength .. whatever it takes …. and not to trust the
One who has called us to His service.
In John
17:21, Jesus said, ‘that they all may
be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You
sent Me’ .… Romans 8:29 ‘For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to
be conformed to the image of His Son,
that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.’

Corinthians 2:14-16 ‘But the natural man does not receive the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know
them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(15) But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly
judged by no one. (16) For "WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD
THAT HE MAY INSTRUCT HIM?" But we
have the mind of Christ.’
If we are to gain God’s perspective, to have the
mind of Christ then we must know God, intimately …Pursue God Christian! Spend time with Him. Let your light shine.
