“Being saved and seeing Jesus are not the same thing. Many
people who have never seen Jesus have received and share in God’s grace. But
once you have seen Him, you can never be the same. Other things will not have
the appeal they did before. You should always recognize the difference between
what you see Jesus to be and what He has done for you. If you see only what He
has done for you, your God is not big enough. […] Jesus must appear to you and
to your friend individually; no one can see Jesus with your eyes. And division
takes place when one has seen Him and the other has not. You cannot bring your
friend to the point of seeing; God must do it.” CHAMBERS
We should not be content with being saved, alone. As glorious as that is. It is not the end but the beginning. Becoming a child of God releases the possibility
of fulfilling God’s purpose in your life. (Ephesians
2:10) Our life in Christ is so much more than “Jesus loves me this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.” It is more than merely having your feet set on the highway
to heaven. God has an eternal plan and,
as a Christian, you have a role to play. But you must do your part. What is that part? Living for Jesus and not
yourself. Allowing the Spirit of God to
have His way in you. It is one thing to receive salvation from Jesus, it is
another to walk with Jesus. That is our calling.
It is our choice whether we fulfill our purpose. You might have the privilege
of being a mother to your children. You
might teach Sunday school. Or maybe you
will be called to go to another land.
Whatever it is, you cannot accomplish that purpose, as God intended,
apart from an abiding relationship with Jesus. ELGIN
“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely
dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
His Word shall not fail you—He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!”
