“[…] God sees our pride, anger, and lack of love for others, but He also knows who we are in Christ. He calls us justified and reconciled (Rom. 5:9-10); forgiven, holy, and beloved (Col. 2:13; 3:12); chosen and faithful (Rev. 17:14). Remember how God sees you and seek to let that define who you are.” Marvin Williams
Have you ever had someone tell you that you fell short of what it was to be a ‘good person’? That somehow you were flawed and therfore lacked value? Did you believe them? Galatians 5:20 tells us what kinds of things are manifested from the flesh … Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) …. And if there is any praise that comes from the world it is short lived. One slip up and you are quickly cast upon the heap of the unwanted and unloved .. strangely by those who are just as imperfect as you are.
But God sees the heart .. He loves us knowing we were imperfect … and still, He sent His Son to die for us … so that we might live … More than that He sent His Spirit to dwell in our hearts to give us a new life. That is how our life is defined … We are sons and daughters of God … children of the King …. So my encouragement to you is that you NOT let the world define you or discourage you. That doesn’t mean that God ignores sin in your life … what it means is that you are forgiven … and accepted in the Beloved … “I’m forgiven, because you were foresaken, I’m accepted, You were condemned. I’m alive and well, you spirit is within me, because You died and rose again. Amazing love how can it be … Amazing Love, I know it’s true and it’s my joy to honor you .. in all I do .. I honor you”
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.” (Ephesians 1:3-12)
