After that, He appeared in
another form to two of them… —Mark 16:12
“Being saved and seeing Jesus
are not the same thing. Many people who have never seen Jesus have received and
share in God’s grace. But once you have seen Him, you can never be the same.
Other things will not have the appeal they did before. […] If you see only what
He has done for you, your God is not big enough. But if you have had a vision,
seeing Jesus as He really is, experiences can come and go, yet you will endure
“as seeing Him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27). The man who was blind from
birth did not know who Jesus was until Christ appeared and revealed Himself to
him (see John 9). […] You cannot bring your friend to the point of seeing; God
must do it. […] When you see Him, you must tell, even if they don’t believe.” CHAMBERS
When you “see” Jesus. When you truly understand who He is, your life
will change. It is a spiritual epiphany (love
that word). No man can reveal that to
you … (Matthew 16:13-20) “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea
Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of
Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others
Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I
am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living
God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for
flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”
When you really understand
who Jesus is, how you live out your faith will change. You confess Him as Lord and savior to be saved. But the reality that He is God … He is more
than you had given Him credit for. You
will surrender your life to Him. You
will no longer be satisfied with satisfied with being a Christian on the
outside. You will be a Christian on the
inside. You will stop trying to be
righteous by doing good things and not bad things. You will surrender everything to Jesus and He
will be your source of righteousness.
The only way that you will understand these words is if you seek Jesus
out … draw close to God the Father … trust Him alone .. yield to the
Spirit. ELGIN
“All to Jesus I surrender,
all to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust
Him
In His presence daily live.
I surrender all, I surrender
all
All to Thee my blessed
savior, I surrender all”
