It Sounds Too Good to Be True

My Utmost For His Highest

John 8:31-32 “Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” What is it that has you in bondage.  We all struggle … to stop struggling is to yield to what whatever it is that has power over us.  It may be our flesh and it may be the Spirit.    Jesus said “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever”  (John 14:15-16)  The closer we are to Jesus, the more we seek Him, we will find the power to obey Him.  The Father has given us the Spirit to help us. When we yield to the Spirit we will not give way to the lust of the flesh.  Galatians 5:16 (TLB) “ I (Paul) advise you to obey only the Holy Spirit’s instructions. He will tell you where to go and what to do, and then you won’t always be doing the wrong things your evil nature wants you to.” Does it sound too good to be true?  It is true because it is based on faith in the only One who is good.   ELGIN
