‘The Spirit [..] is put into me by way of the
atonement by the Cross of Christ. I then have to build my thinking patiently to
bring it into perfect harmony with my Lord. God will not make me think like
Jesus— I have to do it myself. I have to bring “every thought into captivity to
the obedience of Christ” (2
Corinthians 10:5). “Abide in Me”— in intellectual matters, in money matters,
in every one of the matters that make human life what it is. Our lives are not
made up of only one neatly confined area.’ CHAMBERS
Ephesians
1:13-14 “When you believed, you were marked in him with a
seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his
glory.”
We have the Spirit in us to enable us spiritually and
to teach us how to live our new life in Christ.
Paul said in Romans
12:2 that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds … the
Spirit plays a vital part in that transformation. Are you watching the events in this world and
wondering what on earth is going on? I pray that God will open your eyes like
Elisha’s servant (2
Kings 6:13-17) That you will see world events in the same context that the
Lord does. Remember .. God is sovereign ..
no matter what men may do or scheme to do.
You may face a great trial in your life … you may be rejected because you
choose to believe the Bible and not the mandates of your culture … Having a
spiritual perspective on life changes the way you respond to life and its
events. So keep your eyes on Jesus …
look full on His wonderful face .. and the things of earth will grow strangely
dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
And remember Christian . .this
earth is not our home, we are just passing through.
