‘If you are not now receiving the “hundredfold”
which Jesus promised (see Matthew
19:29), and not getting insight into God’s Word, then start praying for
your friends— enter into the ministry of the inner life. “The Lord restored
Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends.” (Job 42:10) As a saved soul, the
real business of your life is intercessory prayer. Whatever circumstances God
may place you in, always pray immediately that His atonement may be recognized
and as fully understood in the lives of others as it has been in yours. Pray
for your friends now, and pray for those with whom you come in contact now.’
CHAMBERS
Prayer is not optional .. it is a necessity. The Bible tells us to do it. But we don’t … well some do often .. most do
when there is a problem they can’t overcome.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be
anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests
to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Prayer must be a habit … not a last option when
all else fails. It is a vital part of
our faith and relationship with the Lord.
Ephesians 6 may be best known for the armor of God that the Christian
should put on each day, but after you suit up, Paul says … “with this in mind”
pray …
Ephesians
6:18-19 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all
kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on
praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak,
words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the
gospel”
One of the most striking parts of worship in the
Haitian churches is the audible prayer time … when all of the people are
praying out loud … it is beautiful … hearing the cries of the people going to
the Father. I love to hear the
encouragement of the pastor saying “Priye, priye, priye, priye”, “Pray, pray,
pray, pray”. And so to you Christian I
say this … “Priye, priye, priye, priye”
