‘The greatest inspiration in Paul’s life was his view of Jesus
Christ as his spiritual creditor. Do I feel that same sense of indebtedness to
Christ regarding every unsaved soul? As a saint, my life’s spiritual honor and
duty is to fulfill my debt to Christ in relation to these lost souls. Every
tiny bit of my life that has value I owe to the redemption of Jesus Christ. Am
I doing anything to enable Him to bring His redemption into evident reality in
the lives of others? I will only be able to do this as the Spirit of God works
into me this sense of indebtedness.’ CHAMBERS
Imagine that you are blind and among many others
that are blind. You are in a room with
one door and it is closed and locked. Everyone
has been in the room for a long time and resolve themselves to that life. One day, you discover that the door can be
opened. That you can get out of the room
.. you can be free. So what do you
do? Do you leave the room, thankful that
you are free and leave the rest to struggle in darkness with no hope or do you
tell them about the door? But wait …
what if they make fun of me? What if
they won’t listen? The truth is, you
have no control over their response to what you tell them, only the obligation
to let them know.
So it is with telling people about Jesus. Do you understand the significance of what Jesus
has done for you and what has happened to you?
Do you understand that it is our obligation to Jesus and not just an
option to tell others. Is your life a
testimony to the salvation you have experienced? Does it reflect the fact that you are a new
creation .. old things have passed away .. (2
Corinthians 5:17)? Can people see
that you are free? Or does your life
still reflect the bondage that you once lived in? St. Francis of Assisi wrote, “Preach the
gospel always and if you must, use words.”
Matthew 5:15-16 “Neither do
people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand,
and it gives light to everyone in the house. In
the same way, let your light shine
before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in
heaven.”
