Where Is Your Mission Field

"And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled." - Mark 5:18-20

The demon-possessed man had been living in the tombs - in isolation - when he met Jesus. His deliverance was an incredible - unimaginable event. He was ready to join up with Jesus, to go wherever Jesus went. But Jesus had another mission for him. "Go home to your friends and tell them." His mission field was at home. He was to be a living testimony to those close to him. You don't have to go to a foreign land to serve God and be faithful to your calling.

Did you notice that Jesus told the man to tell others what God had done for him. That is called a personal testimony.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." - 1 Peter 3:15

What has God sent you to do and where has He sent you to do it? Since God told me to lay my uniform down and follow Him, Martie and I have been on a remarkable journey - living like gypsies often times - (I call us Gypsies for Jesus). Today, although our traveling days may be behind us, our mission and ministry continue and will until we are called home.

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.

By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
