He will glorify Me… —John
16:14
“The New Testament example of
the Christian experience is that of a personal, passionate devotion to the
Person of Jesus Christ. Every other kind of so-called Christian experience is
detached from the Person of Jesus. There is no regeneration— no being born
again into the kingdom in which Christ lives and reigns supreme. There is only
the idea that He is our pattern. In the New Testament Jesus Christ is the
Savior long before He is the pattern. Today He is being portrayed as the
figurehead of a religion— a mere example. He is that, but He is infinitely
more. He is salvation itself; He is the gospel of God! Jesus said, “…when He,
the Spirit of truth, has come,…He will glorify Me…” (John 16:13-14). When I
commit myself to the revealed truth of the New Testament, I receive from God
the gift of the Holy Spirit, who then begins interpreting to me what Jesus did.
The Spirit of God does in me internally all that Jesus Christ did for me
externally.” CHAMBERS
It’s the classic problem of
wanting to be something by trying harder.
In this case, it is wanting to be like Jesus. An admirable goal, but it cannot be achieved
through self-effort or self-denial. Only
by the power of God and the working of the Holy Spirit in us. (John
14:6) “I (Jesus) am the Way and the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the
Father except through me.” (John 15:5) “I am the vine; you are the
branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart
from me you can do nothing.” Our new
life is totally dependent upon Jesus. If
you are struggling in your faith, you need more Jesus not more effort. (Matthew
11:28) “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I (Jesus) will
give you rest.” It’s true my
friend. ELGIN
Without Him MYLON
RAE LEFEVRE
Without Him I could do
nothing Without Him I’d surely fail
Without Him I would be
drifting Like a ship without a sail
Without Him I would be dying Without
Him I’d be enslaved
Without Him life would be
worthless But with Jesus thank God I'm saved
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus Do you
know Him today Please don't turn Him away
Oh Jesus, my Jesus Without
Him how lost I would be
