Let The River Flow

My Utmost For His Highest

The water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. —John 4:14

“We are to be fountains through which Jesus can flow as “rivers of living water” in blessing to everyone. Yet some of us are like the Dead Sea, always receiving but never giving, because our relationship is not right with the Lord Jesus. As surely as we receive blessings from Him, He will pour out blessings through us. But whenever the blessings are not being poured out in the same measure they are received, there is a defect in our relationship with Him. Is there anything between you and Jesus Christ? Is there anything hindering your faith in Him? If not, then Jesus says that out of you “will flow rivers of living water.” It is not a blessing that you pass on, or an experience that you share with others, but a river that continually flows through you. Stay at the Source, closely guarding your faith in Jesus Christ and your relationship to Him, and there will be a steady flow into the lives of others with no dryness or deadness whatsoever.” CHAMBERS

When we surrender our lives to the Lord (Romans 12:1), we effectively give up our interest in ourselves and submit to the will of God.  Well, that is what should happen.  We are to reject the thinking of this world, which is focused on self, and seek the wisdom and truth of God that renews the way we see life, God, and self. (Romans 12:2)  We live for God’s purpose (Ephesians 2:10) and His plans (Jeremiah 29:11).  We allow God to use us for the good of others.  We are a conduit through which God, the Father, reveals God the Son. Or not.  Unfortunately , so often we refocus on ourselves, and this new life becomes one of “What I can get out of it.”  We want God’s blessing to consume it on ourselves.  Is it a bad thing to one good things to happen in our lives?  Of course not.  The problem is that when you focus on yourself, you lose your focus on God. And when you lose your focus on God, you close the gates and the river stops flowing.  (James 4:2-3)  “You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”

Friend it is an easy place to find yourself in.   I don’t have insight into mysteries that others have failed to understand over the ages.  I have to rest on the bedrock of knowing that God loves me, He has His best reserved for His children, that He will provide for me, and for some reason, known only in the heavenlies, the Creator God wants to use us for His glory.  If we can just stay out of the way long enough for Him to do it.  Open up the flood gates and let the River flow.  ELGIN

Let The River Flow Lyrics  DARRELL EVANS

Let the poor man say, "I am rich in Him" Let the lost man say, "I am found in Him" Let the river flow
Let the blind man say, "I can see again"  Let the dead man say, "I am born again"  Let the river flow
Let the river flow, Let the river flow  Holy Spirit come and move in power, Let the river flow
