“Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father…that You
have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to
babes."” —Matthew 11:25
“We do not grow into a spiritual relationship step by step—
we either have a relationship or we do not. God does not continue to cleanse us
more and more from sin— “But if we walk in the light,” we are cleansed “from
all sin” (1 John 1:7). It is a matter of obedience, and once we obey, the
relationship is instantly perfected. But if we turn away from obedience for
even one second, darkness and death are immediately at work again. All of God’s
revealed truths are sealed until they are opened to us through obedience. […] But once you obey, a flash of light comes
immediately. Let God’s truth work into you by immersing yourself in it, not by
worrying into it. [..] Yet God will
never reveal more truth about Himself to you, until you have obeyed what you
know already.” CHAMBERS
On Facebook there is a status you can post “In a
relationship” It doesn’t say how deep
the relationship is. How dedicated you
are to the person. When you are born
again, you are instantly in a relationship with the Creator God. But it doesn’t mean you are dedicated to Him. It doesn’t mean that you are going to develop
that relationship and make Him the most important thing in your life. But it could … it all depends on you and your
choices.
Have you ever seen someone using a tool or implement for one
thing when it was made for another? Like
someone using a butter knife as a screwdriver and think of themselves as
clever. Or maybe using a screwdriver as
a pry bar and end up bending the shaft of the screwdriver out of shape because it was never
intended to bear the stress. Or worse
yet, using rocks or blocks or something else as jack stands to support a car
while they work under it. But when you
have the right tool for the job at hand, you know it, and it works well. So it is with the Christian life. Obedience is nothing more than living in the
manner in which God intended – created – designed us to live. Obedience is saying “yes” to God and “no” to
our own way. (And yes, this problem started in the Garden.) We face decisions to obey constantly
throughout the day. The choice to obey
is not a one time deal. So how about
it. What cha’ gonna do? I hope it will be to say “Yes” . ELGIN
“Yes Lord Yes”
“Yes Lord yes, to your will and to your way.
Yes Lord yes, I will trust you and obey.
When the Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I’ll agree
and I will answer, Yes Lord Yes.”
