‘We must have a oneness with His risen life before
we are prepared to bear any particular truth from Him. Do we really know
anything about the indwelling of the risen life of Jesus? The evidence that we
do is that His Word is becoming understandable to us. God cannot reveal
anything to us if we don’t have His Spirit. And our own unyielding and
headstrong opinions will effectively prevent God from revealing anything to us.
But our insensible thinking will end immediately once His resurrection life has
its way with us.’ CHAMBERS
The Navigators use a picture that shows a cross, a circle and a thrown. It represents Jesus, a person’s
life and their heart. The point they
make with it is that at one time Jesus was outside of the circle, my life. When I become a Christian, Jesus is inside
the circle but the question is, “Does He sit on the throne of my heart?” Am I a carnal Christian or a Spiritual
Christian? We don’t like to think in
those terms. But the truth is that unless
Jesus is on the throne .. commands our heart … we will live in carnality ..
following the old nature ….
Galatians
4:3-9 “Even so
we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the
world. (4) But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, (5) to
redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as
sons. (6) And because you are sons, God has sent forth
the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba,
Father!" (7) Therefore you are no longer a slave but a
son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (8)
But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by
nature are not gods. (9) But
now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you
turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to
be in bondage?”
Lord help us to live by Your Spirit and not our
own flesh. The Spirit gives life .. the
flesh … death … “Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Take my heart now, Lord and seal it. Seal it for Thy courts above.”
