'Certainty is the mark of the commonsense
life—gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life. To be certain of
God means that we are uncertain in all our ways, not knowing what tomorrow may
bring. This is generally expressed with a sigh of sadness, but it should be an
expression of breathless expectation. We are uncertain of the next step, but we
are certain of God. As soon as we abandon ourselves to God and do the task He
has placed closest to us, He begins to fill our lives with surprises.’ CHAMBERS
It is not important to know what is going to
happen next but to have confidence in knowing that God does. Life is filled
with uncertainty. Living by faith is to
rest in the midst of that uncertainty trusting that God will be true to His
promises. There are many trite phrases I
have heard or read over the years that come to my mind as I write this, but the
essence of this truth is in Proverbs 3:5,6 and Hebrews 11:1.
Life is filled with uncertainty … which is nothing
more than opportunity to trust God. Uncertainty
of life reveals the fallibility of man.
Some of us are frozen in fear by our not knowing what will happen next.
The key to peace and joy is resting in the sovereignty of God.
He Is Able
‘He is able .. more than able .. to accomplish
what concerns me today … He is able, more than able to handle anything that
comes my way ..’
