‘The love of God is not created— it is His nature. When we
receive the life of Christ through the
Holy Spirit, He unites us with God
so that His love is demonstrated in us. The goal of the indwelling Holy
Spirit is not just to unite us with God, but to do it in such a way that we will be one with the Father in exactly the same
way Jesus was. And what kind of oneness did Jesus Christ have with the
Father? He had such a oneness with the
Father that He was obedient when His Father sent Him down here to be poured out
for us. And He says to us, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21).’
CHAMBERS
When you read words like those, can you see
yourself being poured out? Or do you think .. there are some who can do that
but I never could. The difference
between the Christian who is and the Christian who isn’t is the word “Yes”. We mistake remarkable acts that we see in
other Christians’ lives circumstances of their making. In fact, if you asked
them, they would tell you that it is God not them. They said ‘yes’ to God and he began a work in
them and through them that they never imagined possible. The problem … we really don’t want to live
our lives like that .. abandoned to God … we like the world too much. We are afraid God will say .. give that up …
stop doing that … go there … The fact is that the same God who saved you … Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I
have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.’
You have trusted God for eternity .. trust him for
this season of your mortal life .. and let the light of Jesus shine.
