Are You Ready To Tell The World That Jesus Saves?

My Utmost For His Highest

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. —2 Timothy 2:15

“If you cannot express yourself well on each of your beliefs, work and study until you can. If you don’t, other people may miss out on the blessings that come from knowing the truth. Strive to re-express a truth of God to yourself clearly and understandably, and God will use that same explanation when you share it with someone else. But you must be willing to go through God’s winepress where the grapes are crushed. You must struggle, experiment, and rehearse your words to express God’s truth clearly. Then the time will come when that very expression will become God’s wine of strength to someone else.”  CHAMBERS

(2 Timothy 4:2) “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction  You can’t be ready if you don’t prepare yourself.  You train so that when the “game is on” you are able to do your part.  Spiritual preparation has two parts.  First you must be devoted to the Lord and submitted to the leading of the Spirit.  Second you must be knowledgeable  with respect to the Truth of God.  Paul describes our preparation in Ephesians 6 as putting on the full armor of God.  (1 Peter 3:15) “sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence”  You may have heard the quote “Preach the Gospel always and if necessary, use words.”  It has been attributed to Francis of Assisi, but there is no documented proof that he ever said it or wrote it.  More importantly,  it is the Gospel that brings salvation, not my godly behavior. (Romans 1:16) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”  My godly behavior is evidence of the transforming power of the gospel, but my behavior is not the gospel itself. Are you ready?  ELGIN
