“and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28
“Whenever anything begins to disintegrate your life with
Jesus Christ, turn to Him at once, asking Him to re-establish your rest. Never
allow anything to remain in your life that is causing the unrest. Think of
every detail of your life that is causing the disintegration as something to
fight against, not as something you should allow to remain. Ask the Lord to put
awareness of Himself in you, and your self-awareness will disappear. Then He
will be your all in all. Beware of allowing your self-awareness to continue,
because slowly but surely it will awaken self-pity, and self-pity is satanic. […] When I am fully conscious of my awareness of
Christ, there is something wrong. It is the sick person who really knows what
health is. A child of God is not aware of the will of God because he is the
will of God. When we have deviated even slightly from the will of God, we begin
to ask, “Lord, what is your will?” A child of God never prays to be made aware
of the fact that God answers prayer, because he is so restfully certain that
God always answers prayer.” CHAMBERS
Our daily struggle is between the Spirit and the flesh. Do we live in the awareness of our spiritual
birth or in the awareness of our old nature?
Are we trusting Jesus or depending upon ourselves .. even for those
things that are spiritual? God has
called each of us to walk in the power of His Spirit since we have been born
again. But, our tendency is to live each
day to the best of our ability, in the strength of our flesh, and limit what
God can do in the confines of our imagination. If I can’t see it in my mind, it is not
possible. That is where faith enters in
.. if we will allow it. (Ephesians
3:20) “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” God goes way beyond what we can imagine … now
that is probably the understatement of the year! He is the Creator of all that is and ever
will be … why do we try to make Him smaller that He is? Because our faith is small and God is only as
big as our faith. (Matthew 14:28-31) “And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is
You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when
Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But
when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink
he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His
hand and caught him, and said to him, “O
you of little faith, why did you doubt?””
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus today and stop limiting yourself to what
you can see, touch and hear. Your world
is much bigger than that. ELGIN
