Telling Them Like It Is

My Utmost For His Highest

‘When you find yourself face to face with a person who is spiritually lost, remind yourself of Jesus Christ on the cross. If that person can get to God in any other way, then the Cross of Christ is unnecessary. If you think you are helping lost people with your sympathy and understanding, you are a traitor to Jesus Christ. You must have a right-standing relationship with Him yourself, and pour your life out in helping others in His way— not in a human way that ignores God. The theme of the world’s religion today is to serve in a pleasant, non-confrontational manner.’ CHAMBERS

Nicodemus came to Jesus at night.  He knew there was something not right in his life, but didn’t know what it was.  Jesus could have talked around the issue trying to be sensitive to Nicodemus’ struggle, but He didn’t.  John 3:3 ‘ Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”’  For some reason, we believe that telling someone they must be born again is offensive and we should not be offensive toward people.  Say a person is about to step in front of an oncoming truck.  You see it and quietly say .. “Look out.” The person steps into the street.  You certainly didn’t offend them.  If the Spirit of God is telling you to speak to a person, then you must speak.

The essence of life is found in Jesus.  The truth of that fact is hidden form those who are lost …  2 Corinthians 4:3-5  “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord […]”

God has chosen the Gospel to be the key to unlocking the door of eternal in life.  1 Corinthians 1: 20-23 “Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified.”

During this season the tension between the American culture  and God  is most evident … It is also during this time that hearts focused on family and relationships … If you should have the occasion to meet with Nicodemus this year ( could be a child, brother, mother, or friend) … share the message of life … they must be born again … that is the message of Christmas …. Jesus is the victor over sin and death … not merely the baby in a manger.
