‘If […] you substitute your knowledge of the way of salvation for confidence in the
power of the gospel, you hinder
people from getting to reality. Take care to see […] that you […] are rooted and grounded by faith in God. […]
make sure that you are relying on the
Holy Spirit. Rely on the certainty
of God’s redemptive power, and He
will create His own life in people. […] If your faith is in
experiences, anything that happens is likely to upset that faith. […]. Once you
have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you will never be moved again. […]
I must deliberately give my sanctified life to God for His service, so that He
can use me as His hands and His feet.’ CHAMBERS
It is one thing to know about God and another to
know God. James 2:19 “You believe that
there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! “ It is an
easy thing to slip into a trust of what you know about God and not God
himself. We treat His intent to have a
relationship with us as if it were optional, when it is essential. We must spend time nurturing that relationship.
Yet we focus on other things, trusting in what we know.
There is a fine line between the two … do you think
about God in terms of who He was or who He is? God is present .. His Spirit is on every Believer.
He is not far off but near … Ephesians
2:10-16 “For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Therefore remember that you, […] once were far off have been brought near by
the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, […] and has
broken down the middle wall of
separation, […].”
It is through Jesus that we have been brought near
to God … our relationship is possible because of Him. Our relationship with God is preserved through
Him. We must be careful that we keep
that truth fresh in our minds … That God does not slip into a place where we
think about him .. off and on .. but don’t spend time in developing our
personal relationship with him. Hebrews 10:19-23 “Therefore,
brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated
for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us
hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful.”
