‘The Cross represents
only one thing for us— complete, entire,
absolute identification with the Lord Jesus Christ— and there is nothing in
which this identification is more real to us than in prayer. “Your Father knows
the things you have need of before you ask Him” (Matthew 6:8).
Then why should we ask? The point of
prayer is not to get answers from God, but to have perfect and complete oneness
with Him. If we pray only because we want answers, we will become irritated
and angry with God. We receive an answer every time we pray, but it does not
always come in the way we expect, and our spiritual irritation shows our
refusal to identify ourselves truly with our Lord in prayer. We are not here to
prove that God answers prayer, but to be living trophies of God’s grace.’
CHAMBERS
John 17:11,20-21
11 I will remain in the world no
longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father,
protect them by the power of
your name, the name you gave me, so that
they may be one as we are one. 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for
those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am
in you. May they also be in us so that
the world may believe that you have sent me.
Do you completely identify with Jesus or do you consider that taking religion a little too far? What does complete identification mean anyway? Moving into a cave? Don’t recall Jesus doing that. Seeking to do the will of the Father .. oh I do remember Jesus doing that. Laying your life down for the good of others .. .yep, He did that too. Rejecting the world’s definition of right for the Word’s definition of right? Yep again …
It is the Spirit that enables the ‘oneness’
coupled with our obedience. We have to
stop worrying about what ‘might’ happen if we say ‘yes’ and worry about what
will not happen if we say ‘no’. We will
have missed the point … so self-absorbed that we miss the eternal .. point … We
must stop treating our faith like a personality or character attribute and
treat it for what it is ….. our very essence … (2 Corinthians 5:17)
To answer the question of WWJD? It is simple … He
reflected the Father … Shine for Him today.
