Paul states here that the call of God is to preach the gospel. But remember what Paul means by “the gospel,” namely, the reality of redemption in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are inclined to make sanctification the goal of our preaching. Paul refers to personal experiences only by way of illustration, never as the end of the matter. We are not commissioned to preach salvation or sanctification— we are commissioned to lift up Jesus Christ. CHAMBERS
Jesus said “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” John 12:32
We are not all called to be preachers …we are not all evangelists … but we are all called to be witnesses. Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The one passion of Paul’s life was to proclaim the gospel of God. He welcomed heartbreak, disillusionment, and tribulation for only one reason— these things kept him unmovable in his devotion to the gospel of God. CHAMBERS
Isn’t that strange? That difficulty would be a good thing? But like the butterfly emerging .. if there were not difficulty in getting out of the cocoon, it could not fly when it emerged.
James 1:2-4 “….count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
The point …… don’t look at problems you face with disappointment but see them as opportunities to trust God and see Him at work. That requires you to go beyond trusting your feelings .. and walking and living by Faith … that's right where God wants you …
