As Close As "Yes Lord"

My Utmost For His Highest

‘As servants of God, we must learn to make room for Him-to give God “elbow room.” We plan and figure and predict that this or that will happen, but we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses. Would we be surprised if God came into our meeting or into our preaching in a way we had never expected Him to come? Do not look for God to come in a particular way, but do look for Him. The way to make room for Him is to expect Him to come, but not in a certain way. No matter how well we may know God, the great lesson to learn is that He may break in at any minute.’ CHAMBERS

In the Experiencing God study, Henry Blackaby says that God is always at work around us.  And He invites us to join Him in that work.  This life is not just for preachers or missionaries, but for everyday people.  Christians who are stay at home moms or truck drivers or pizza delivery people, or someone who is out of work.  God is at work and wants to use His sons and daughters for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom .. the spreading of the Gospel.

As much as it may seem to you that being part of the kingdom, beyond your personal spiritual life, is out of reach … it is as close as a “Yes Lord to Your will and to Your way.”  When God shows up, it will be in an opportunity .. to speak a word, to show kindness to someone who does not deserve it … to be like Jesus … So what do you say?

“Yes Lord yes to Your will and to your way.  Yes Lord yes, I will trust You and obey.  When the Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I’ll agree, and I will answer, Yes Lord, Yes!”
