"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil." 1 Peter 3:15-17
Did you ever think there would come a day when a person who embraces the Bible as Truth would be accused of being a hater and evil doer by those who reject what God has revealed in the Bible? Well, that time has come. That day is here! We live in a day when men call evil good and good evil.
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!" - Isaiah 5:20-21
This is not a new thing. People who want to justify their sin by declaring it right and good while rejecting what the Lord has declared right and good as evil have been doing just that since the Garden. Truth never changes - but what the world declares to be truth does. And so - in the midst of a culture and a time when what is plain to every Christian is rejected by the culture we live in. Thus we are considered to be the sinners - the ones in the wrong.
"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." - Romans 1:28-32
Today we tend to divide people as being on the Left or on the Right. But that is natural man making distinctions between other natural men (and women). There will come a day when the only distinction that matters will be those who are left behind (for judgement) and those who are in the right (having been saved by faith).
Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
