If Saying Jesus Is The Only Way is Wrong, I don't Want To Be Right

My Utmost For His Highest

“When you find yourself face to face with a person who is spiritually lost, remind yourself of Jesus Christ on the cross. If that person can get to God in any other way, then the Cross of Christ is unnecessary. If you think you are helping lost people with your sympathy and understanding, you are a traitor to Jesus Christ. You must have a right-standing relationship with Him yourself, and pour your life out in helping others in His way— not in a human way that ignores God. The theme of the world’s religion today is to serve in a pleasant, non-confrontational manner.  But our only priority must be to present Jesus Christ crucified— to lift Him up all the time (see 1 Corinthians 2:2). […]  If the worker himself believes in Jesus Christ and is trusting in the reality of redemption, his words will be compelling to others. What is extremely important is for the worker’s simple relationship with Jesus Christ to be strong and growing. His usefulness to God depends on that, and that alone. […] He [the Christian] cannot always be charming and friendly[…] We are sent by God to lift up Jesus Christ, not to give wonderfully beautiful speeches.” CHAMBERS

Our country was founded with the belief that people should have freedom of religion.  In some countries, even today, you can be killed because you do not profess the major religious belief. If you believe John 14:6 is true – Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except by Me.” – then what our forefathers were really saying was that people have the right to believe the wrong things about God without persecution.  They have a right to be wrong in this country.  What that means is that Christians, who are the minority in the culture in the United States will be viewed as intolerant by merely suggesting that other religions are wrong. And we are, but they are.  Wrong that is.

We should not expect the world to embrace the Gospel.  (Matthew 24:9) "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.” Jesus was talking about how the world would respond to those who proclaim the Gospel.  (John 17:14) “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”  The tide has turned in the United States as far as its attitude toward Christians is concerned.  Do not be alarmed.  The darker the night .. the brighter the light.  So let your light shine … ELGIN
