5 Steps To Spiritual Success

My Utmost For His Highest

‘A self-assured saint is of no value to God. He is abnormal, unfit for daily life, and completely unlike God. We are here, not as immature angels, but as men and women, to do work of this world. And we are to do it with an infinitely greater power to withstand the struggle because we have been born from above.’ CHAMBERS

The bigger story of eternity is that God intends for us to be eternally in heaven with Him.  The problem is, this natural life we have on earth looms so large in our eyes, that we often can’t see beyond it.  We find ourselves trusting in our own abilities for the here and now and trusting in God for what comes later.  Big mistake!  We pursue life following the rules and preferences of our culture even when they are contrary to the Word of God.  We forget that as Christians, we have a new set of rules for living in this world.  The trouble starts when we ignore them and continue to live like we did before we said “yes” to Jesus.

Are you struggling in life … money, relationships, health, work?  Walking after the Spirit and not the flesh, is what we are called to … walking after the flesh and not the Spirit is what we are prone to.  The first step to dealing effectively with life’s issues is to draw near to God.  Go to church … the right church … not all churches have the purpose of edifying – building up – the Christian, but prove to be more like a club for people who want to straddle the fence … read your Bible .. every day … pray .. every day … Follow 5 steps to spiritual success in Psalm 1 ….

“Blessed is the man (1) Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, (2) Nor stands in the path of sinners, (3) Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; (4) But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And (5) in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (Psalms 1:1-6 NKJV)

If you are in line with those who are perishing ... well ... you are in the wrong line!
