"For we walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
I was just reading through Exodus again. The part where Moses is called by God. It starts with Moses and the burning bush. Well the bush was not actually burning because the bush was unharmed by the flames. It was a God-thing - supernatural. But it certainly got Moses' attention. Then afterwards, God began to reveal what He wanted Moses to do. And that is when Moses started coming up with reasons why he couldn't do what God asked of him. He was a sheep herder not an orator or statesman. He was not the designated leader of the people of Israel. In fact he had no notoriety among the people. He was nothing that God could use - at least in his humble opinion. But God thought otherwise.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28
That is really the same for each of us. God wants to use us for his purpose. God never asks us to do anything that we can do on our own. Like Moses, we look at ourselves and shrink at the idea of doing something that eternal consequences. Do you remember when Jesus called his disciples? They were common men - not learned scholars. What God is looking at is your heart not your credentials.
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20
The life we live after we are born again by the Spirit through faith in Jesus we live by faith and not by sight. In other words, God does not expect us to live our new life in the power of our flesh. But by faith. And what is faith?
"The substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 12:1
Moses could not imagine doing what God said He wanted Moses to do because Moses was trying to understand and see with his mind and in light of his earthly-natural experiences and abilities. Until God showed up.
Don't limit yourself when it comes to serving God. God does not call the equipped - He equips the called.
Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Confess it - Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
