What Is The Source Of Your Hope?

"But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey." - Numbers 14:7-8

Isn't it something that two people can look at the same thing and see different things - come to completely different conclusions. That is the way it was with the 12 spies. 10 saw one thing and 2 saw the same thing but came to an opposite conclusion. 10 saw things from a human perspective and 2 from God's perspective. That is the way it is for us Christians. Or the way it should be. Our goal should be to see the world and its events with spiritual understanding.

"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." - Ephesians 1:17-21

How you see the world and your place in it will determine how you respond to the events of this life. Although what happens in this life may be disheartening, overwhelming even, we have hope beyond it. "Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus and His righteousness. On Christ the solid rock we stand, all other ground is sinking sand." But it takes more than merely believing it - you must walk in it. You cannot possibly walk in it, if you are not intentional about drawing close to God in faith.

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.

By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
