Christ In Me

My Utmost For His Highest

Sanctification means the impartation of the holy qualities of Jesus Christ to me. It is the gift of His patience, love, holiness, faith, purity, and godliness that is exhibited in and through every sanctified soul. Sanctification is not drawing from Jesus the power to be holy— it is drawing from Jesus the very holiness that was exhibited in Him, and that He now exhibits in me. Sanctification is an impartation, not an imitation. Imitation is something altogether different. The perfection of everything is in Jesus Christ, and the mystery of sanctification is that all the perfect qualities of Jesus are at my disposal.’ CHAMBERS

When we become a Christian .. we are given the capacity to be like Christ.  That is because we have his very nature in us .. Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

John 17:22-23  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  (23)  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

We must be careful to not think of the ‘new life’ as something that will happen someday.  If you are a Christian, Christ is in you.  You have the capacity to live life fully the way God intended, today … like physical maturity you grow into the capacity that was imparted to you the day you became a Christian. It is a process …. It is a faith walk.  As you exercise your faith … as you practice the disciplines of the faith … you are transformed … you begin to reflect Jesus in all areas of your life, more and more.  The old is passing away and the new is coming .. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Acts 4:13  Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

People should see a difference in us.  If we are indeed growing in Christ .. people should see that … not because we share the plan of salvation with them every time we see them .. or because we thrust a Bible in their face at every opportunity … but because of the way we live our lives.  The fruit of the Spirit manifests itself in us.  Because there is something about us that is not ordinary in the sense that we do not live like others are living.  We don’t treat people the way others treat people.  Our affections are on things above not on this earth.  Colossians 3:1-3  If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.  (2)  Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  (3)  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 1:26-27  the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.  (27)  To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Let your light shine today …
