"I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." —1 Corinthians 9:22
"A Christian worker has to learn how to be God’s man or woman of great worth and excellence in the midst of a multitude of meager and worthless things. Never protest by saying, “If only I were somewhere else!” All of God’s people are ordinary people who have been made extraordinary by the purpose He has given them. […] We are not workers for God by choice. Many people deliberately choose to be workers, but they have no purpose of God’s almighty grace or His mighty Word in them. Paul’s whole heart, mind, and soul were consumed with the great purpose of what Jesus Christ came to do, and he never lost sight of that one thing. […] It is not that you have gotten God, but that He has gotten you. God is at work bending, breaking, molding, and doing exactly as He chooses. […] We have to be in God’s hand so that He can place others on the Rock, Jesus Christ, just as He has placed us. He will do with you what He never did before His call came to you, and He will do with you what He is not doing with other people. Let Him have His way.” Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest
“Have Thine own way Lord, have Thine own way. You are the Potter and I am the clay. Mold me and make me, after Thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.” Oh, how I love the old worship songs. I often wonder what was going on in the life of the person that penned the lyrics that we sing. Are you ready for God to do what has He purposed to do in your life? Paul wrote to the Corinthians,
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." - 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
Paul was speaking to how fragile we are on our own, but what is in the “jar” is able to meet whatever comes our way. Whether it is our calling or our circumstance, we are able to stand in the midst of it because of the power and presence of God.
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31
Listen, we are all going to face trouble – challenges – trials – add any label you like. But our feet are planted firmly on the Solid Rock, Jesus Christ. We have an eternal destiny, and what we need to do is maintain is our eternal perspective.
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39
Meditate on that this morning. In light of your present circumstances, your past, or what might be looming in your future … you have Jehovah God on your side. You are in the palm of His hand. Be encouraged … don’t be downcast .. put your hope in God! Bondye Fidel – God is Faithful!
