More Than Conquerors

My Utmost For His Highest

‘Are we prepared to let God do what He wants with us? Are we prepared to be separated from the outward, evident blessings of God? Until Jesus Christ is truly our Lord, we each have goals of our own which we serve. Our faith is real, but it is not yet permanent. And God is never in a hurry. If we are willing to wait, we will see God pointing out that we have been interested only in His blessings, instead of in God Himself.’ CHAMBERS

What attracts you most about faith in God and a relationship with Jesus Christ? Salvation and eternal security … or more earthly issues like … provision … protection … personal comfort? God’s purpose is that He be glorified through us and His Son be proclaimed by us … by both words and deeds. Deeds are not just doing good things for other people, but demonstrating our faith to the world no matter what comes our way.

When we are abundantly blessed we are generous with that blessing toward others … focused on God and not ourselves …. when we face hardship we are confident in God’s providence and at peace in our circumstance.  And still we are generous toward others even in our poverty and pain.  How can that be?  It is because we are more than conquerors  ….

Romans 8:35-39  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it is written: "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER."  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Is that the faith you are living?  It is the faith you have been given …. You can have assurance not because of what you have, but because of Who has you.
