Tell Them About Jesus

My Utmost For His Highest

‘Jesus must appear to you and to your friend individually; no one can see Jesus with your eyes. And division takes place when one has seen Him and the other has not. You cannot bring your friend to the point of seeing; God must do it. Have you seen Jesus? If so, you will want others to see Him too. “And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either” (Mark 16:13). When you see Him, you must tell, even if they don’t believe.’ CHAMBERS

Are you nervous whenever you think about sharing Jesus with someone?  Especially a friend or relative.  Do you think that their eternal destiny rests in how well you share the Gospel with them.  If they say “I don’t go for that religious stuff”, “It may be alright for you, but not for me.”, or “I know what you believe is right, but maybe later.”  Do you feel like a failure?  Or maybe you feel rejection.  Well, what if I told you that it is God who saves people.  You can’t.  It is the Gospel that has the power unto salvation.  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, […]’ (Romans 1:16)

It is a spiritual thing .. like you didn’t already know that .. it’s just that you don’t always remember it. Salvation is very personal .. it is a transaction between a person and God.  Our job is to go and tell.  Remember the parable of the seed?  (Matthew 13) Our job is to scatter the seed (the Gospel) Have you heard someone quote ‘Preach the Gospel always, if necessary use words.’  It is attributed to St Francis of Assisi .. I don’t know who actually said it.  But what I fear is that people may use it as an excuse to never tell anyone about Jesus and the Gospel.  The thinking would be, I don’t have to tell them I just have to show them.  Another quote that I often use is .. ‘People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.’  (Dr. John Maxwell)  That can be taken to the same extreme .. just do for people and they will be drawn to Jesus by your kindness … Jesus said

‘And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.’ (John 12:32)

He was speaking of the crucifixion, but through the work of the cross, He brought salvation to the world.  We are the ones who must lift up the name of Jesus.  Not just by what we do but by verbally sharing the Gospel.  Next time you feel the Spirit tugging at your heart to say something to someone … don’t worry about the outcome just obey the Spirit.  Speak to the person – tell them about Jesus --- and let God do the rest.  Let your light shine today …
