Your Life Should Speak Louder Than Your Words

"Go to this people and say, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.” For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them. Therefore, I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!" - Acts 28:26-28

The nation of Israel knew that they had been chosen by God as His witness to the world. The mystery that was kept hidden from them was that God intended to extend His grace and mercy even to the Gentiles. The seed of the promise to Abraham was spiritual in nature not natural. Circumcision for the men was a physical sign of the Jews identity as members of the "chosen race".

"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14

That mystery could and would only be accepted and understood when a person's spiritual eyes and ears were opened - Jew or Gentile. Until that happened the Truth would be considered folly to the perishing.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." - 1 Corinthians 1:18

That fact should not be a reason for us to withhold our testimony to the world around us. You do not know whose heart will yield to the Gospel. So do not remain silent in these dark times. Let your life speak louder than your words.

I wrote a poem some years ago - 2009 actually - which I recently converted to a song. The title is "The Life of a Preacher Man". One of the verses goes

"Yes the preacher’s just a man like me, but with a bigger load to bear

God sent him to preach the Gospel to a world that doesn’t care"

and He sent you too.

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
