"For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us... For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.... So, in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." - Galatians 3:10-13,18, 26-29
Imagine that you are standing on the South rim of the Grand Canyon, and you are told that your life depends upon your ability to jump across the Grand Canyon to the North rim. Impossible task you say? Of course it is. No one can do it - well, actually, there is One and He said He would jump for you. And He did. All mankind faces an impossible challenge. We must live a sinless life in order to be acceptable to God and escape an eternity in hell. Separated from Him. We must jump over the great chasm called Hell in order to get to Heaven. But we can't do it on our own. Only by faith in Jesus.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." - Ephesians 2:4-9
I cannot point you to a specific scripture to support the thought I am about to share, but I think that after Judgement Day there will be eternal passion in the heart of every person, lost or saved, to be with the Father - the Creator God. For the saved it will be a reality. For the Lost it will be eternally denied. I think that will be hell for the lost. That was not God's intent - but He allows it. You think Jesus did not have a choice? He did but He chose the Father's will and not His own.
"... we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10
God's purpose for all mankind was interrupted by sin. On that Day, facing an eternity in Hell, many will look to Jesus for salvation, but on that Day they will be beyond saving. As they cry out to Jesus, He will sadly say - "You didn't know me yesterday, I know you not today." It will be too late to pray. So many put off today what they won't be able to do tomorrow.
Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.
By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
