Th Right Kind of Trust

MUFHH

“Every time we lose ground in our fellowship with God, it is because we have disrespectfully thought that we knew better than Jesus Christ. We have allowed “the cares of this world” to enter in (Matthew 13:22), while forgetting the “much more” of our heavenly Father. …. Consecration is the act of continually separating myself from everything except that which God has appointed me to do. It is not a one-time experience but an ongoing process. Am I continually separating myself and looking to God every day of my life?” CHAMBERS

We lose ground in our faith when we allow the cares of the world to dominate our thinking and our doing.   When we decide that we have to do something to protect ourselves … and not trust in God then we begin to edge God out of our lives … before you know it, He is nowhere to be found, or at least that is the way we live.  Keeping in touch with God requires us to keep in touch with God every day.  It is something that we must do … doesn’t mean we will have more money … but money doesn’t make those anxious feelings go away … it doesn’t fix broken relationships … possessions don’t bring comfort to the soul … they don’t speak to the deep insecurities that we don’t want anyone to know about … they don’t relieve the weight that bears on us because of past hurts …. But God does, He is the God of all comfort 2 Corinthians 1 …. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Psalm 42:5 (NIV)

5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Revelation 22:1-5  (NIV)

1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
