I Am Weak But He Is Strong

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." -  2 Corinthians 12:9

When you are going to attack an enemy, you don't attack their strength - at least not initially. First you search out their vulnerabilities - weaknesses in their defenses and attack them there.  It is the same in spiritual warfare. When the Bible says "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." - 1 Peter 5:8 remember that lions look for the weak in the herd.

We are all weak - there are areas in our lives that are vulnerable to temptation. Those are the places where we will be attacked. Where Satan will send his "fiery darts" (Ephesians 6:16). Where we commonly fail is thinking that that our "won't power" will be sufficient to fend off the attack. Remember what Paul wrote in Romans 7?

"For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!" - Romans 7:19-25

We forget that this new life we live is 100 percent dependent upon the Spirit and Jesus.

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

Ephesians 6 says we should stand - but only when we have prepared ourselves by God's provision.

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.

By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
