A Peculiar People - A Holy Nation

"Then he [Moses] said to Him [the Lord], “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.” - Exodus 33:1-16

How do you feel when someone says that faith in Jesus is the only way you can go to heaven? That placing your faith in anything else does not save you from eternal damnation? You won't have the lost patting you on the back saying "We are so happy for you!" The world wants to believe, well - a couple of ways. One is that when we die we face oblivion. Or, when we die we will all have a chance of going to heaven. Jesus is not the only way.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." - 1 Corinthians 1:18

The truth of the Gospel can only be revealed to the lost by the Spirit of God. We can share the Gospel - and should - but it is the Spirit and not us that illuminates the heart of the lost. Most of the world will not receive the Gospel. The path to heaven is narrow. The fact that most of the world is hell bound should break your heart - but it should not change our message and certainly does not change the truth.

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6

As Christians, we have been adopted into the family of God - grafted into the vine. We are not like most of the world. That doesn't make us better but it does make us blessed.

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special [peculiar] people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" - 1 Peter 2:9

We were once lost but now we are found - blind but now we see. Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved wretches like you and me.

Think about it – Pray about it – Believe it – Confess it - Walk in it. Let your light shine and give God the glory.

By Faith Alone By His Grace Alone And For His Glory Alone
