The Bible, Easy To Read But It Can Be Hard To Live

“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” —John 13:14

“Ministering in everyday opportunities that surround us does not mean that we select our own surroundings— it means being God’s very special choice to be available for use in any of the seemingly random surroundings which He has engineered for us. The very character we exhibit in our present surroundings is an indication of what we will be like in other surroundings. The things Jesus did were the most menial of everyday tasks, and this is an indication that it takes all of God’s power in me to accomplish even the most common tasks in His way. […] Jesus said, “I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you” (John 13:15). Notice the kind of people that God brings around you, and you will be humiliated once you realize that this is actually His way of revealing to you the kind of person you have been to Him. Now He says we should exhibit to those around us exactly what He has exhibited to us. […] We have to go the “second mile” with God (see Matthew 5:41). Yet some of us become worn out in the first ten steps. Then we say, “Well, I’ll just wait until I get closer to the next big crisis in my life.” But if we do not steadily minister in everyday opportunities, we will do nothing when the crisis comes.” CHAMBERS

(2 Corinthians 4:8-12) “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

The Bible can be easy to read, but hard to live.  When times are difficult, when you feel you are about to be crushed under the weight of the situation you find yourself in, that is exactly the moment when God’s glory can be revealed in your life.  How do you respond when you are humbled before men?  Are you being mistreated? So was Jesus. Are you being falsely accused? So was Jesus. Are you being forsaken by your friends?  So was Jesus.  Are you being rejected? So was Jesus.  His life .. who He is .. His power … is revealed through us.  Whatever you might be facing, if you have Jesus, you are already victorious.  The waves of life may be rolling around … you may feel the breath of the lion … the heat of the furnace …. But God is on your side.  ELGIN

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

“He Will Come And Save You” Bob Fitts

“Say to those who are fearful hearted, Do not be afraid, The Lord your God will come, And with His mighty arm
When you call on His Name, He will come and save you

Say those who are broken hearted, Do not lose your faith, The Lord your God will come, And with His loving hand
When you call on His Name, He will come and save you

He will come and save you, He will come and save you, Say to the weary one , Your God will surely come
He will come and save you, He will come and save you, Lift up your eyes to Him, You will arise again
He will come and save you”

Amen
